Many public libraries do not have the funding available to purchase specialty books such as “Coming Out From Behind The Badge” and “American Heroes Coming Out From Behind The Badge.” Young members of the LGBT community may not be able to order these books or have access to them except through a public library or local LGBT center library. We also recognize that the libraries found in many law enforcement agencies are made up of donated books and other second-hand professional publications. The only way we can get our books into these public access points is by providing copies at no cost to the library.
Based on the many requests we have received from college libraries, students, law enforcement agencies, and local LGBT organizations, we have created an opportunity for you to help us get our books into a wide variety of public access points. You can choose the library you would like to see our books made available. It can be a public library, school library, LGBT organization, or public safety agency. We will ship directly to that library hard cover copies of both books listing your name as the donor. All you need to do is make a donation to cover the cost of both books.
We have set up this program to work with our Out To Protect Scholarship Program and it’s mission to create a greater awareness of the LGBT professionals working in law enforcement. Your $40.00 donation will not only provide our books to the library of your choice, but it will qualify you for a tax deduction. Out To Protect Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit public benefit corporation. This is a win-win opportunity for everyone including all of those people who will have the opportunity to learn from the real life stories shared in our books.
